Cookie Policy (UK)
Last updated 01 January 1970
This Cookie Policy explains how wolverinegaragedoors.co.uk uses cookies and similar technologies, and how you can manage them. It should be read alongside our Privacy Statement.
1. What are cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. It lets the site remember things between pages and visits, such as your preferences. Some cookies are set by us ("first-party") and some by third-party services we use ("third-party"). We also use related technologies such as your browser's local storage, which we treat in the same way.
2. How we ask for your consent
When you first visit, we show a cookie banner. Until you choose "Accept", we keep all non-essential cookies switched off using Google Consent Mode (analytics and advertising storage default to "denied"). Strictly necessary cookies, which the site cannot work without, do not require consent. You can change your mind at any time, see section 6.
3. Strictly necessary cookies
These are required for the website to function and are always on. They do not track you for marketing.
- Session cookie (first-party, expires when you close your browser) — keeps your session working as you move around the site.
- XSRF-TOKEN (first-party, session) — a security token that protects our contact form against cross-site request forgery.
- wgd_consent (first-party, stored in your browser's local storage until you clear it) — remembers your cookie choice so we do not ask again.
4. Analytics cookies (consent required)
With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4 (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. These are only set after you accept.
- _ga (Google, up to 13 months) — distinguishes one visitor from another.
- _ga_<id> (Google, up to 13 months) — keeps track of the visit session.
5. Advertising cookies (consent required)
If you accept, we use Google Ads conversion measurement to see how well our adverts work. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you or to track you across unrelated websites beyond measuring our own campaigns.
- _gcl_au (Google, around 90 days) — used by Google Ads to measure conversions from our adverts.
6. Third-party services
- CyberStaff live chat — if you open the chat widget, CyberStaff may set cookies to keep your chat session working. See CyberStaff's own privacy notice for details.
- Google Fonts — our typefaces load from Google's servers, which means your IP address is shared with Google to deliver them. No cookie is set for this.
7. Managing your consent
You can change or withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your site data in your browser, which brings the cookie banner back, or by adjusting your browser's cookie settings.
8. Turning cookies off in your browser
All major browsers let you block or delete cookies, and choose to be warned before one is set. Check your browser's Help pages for instructions. Please note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site, including the contact form, from working.
9. Your rights
You have rights over your personal data, including the right to access it, correct it, withdraw consent and complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). These are set out in full in our Privacy Statement.
