Plan for half a day for most single doors. The pattern we see week to week: a straightforward like-for-like replacement runs three to six hours; removing the old door adds about an hour; automation adds programming and testing time; and a side-hinged pair with a full frame replacement is usually a day.
Whatever the door, you should be left with a working, programmed and tested door before the installer leaves — that is the standard we hold ourselves to, and a fair test to apply to anyone else's quote. The job is priced from a free survey first, so the time estimate on your written quote reflects your actual opening, not a guess.
